Each year we come by thousands…
And share what’s on our mind…
And tell our fallen “comrades”…
That they’re still missed all the time!
We listen to a speech or two…
And reflect on what is said…
Then feel a sudden emptiness…
As names pass through our head.
They all fought for our freedom…
Regardless of the war…
And are all consider heroes…
For what they did and more!
And why it’s set aside…
For “Memorial Day” helps heal the soul…
And honor those who died.
So take a little time…
On this very special day…
And remember all our heroes…
And the price they had to pay!
