Stories & Poems About War

Remembering Bataan

April 10th of ‘42’…
is well remembered by a few.

Bataan became the starting place,
of crimes against the human race!

Ask any soldier who was there…
It was a tragic thing to bear.

A “Death March” is what it became…

And in our history, will remain.

So many perished by the side…
and it’s a fact; that thousands died!

The pain and cruelty, that occurred…
was beyond belief, and descriptive word.

“War is Hell!” we often hear,
and those strong words, are echoed here.

And as those dark days slowly passed,
what happened there… will forever last.

The men that died, those fateful days,
became our heroes, in many ways!

They gave their “Brothers”, the strength to go on,
and the will to fight, and to free… Bataan!
