Reunion 2008

EARLY COMMENTS FROM MARINES WHO ATTENDED OUR 6TH ANNUAL REUNION:

FROM DON GREENLAW:
The E/2/7 reunion here in Oceanside & San Diego was great. I believe Troy saidthe final count was 37. I believe the real
highlights for the guys was the one day tour of CamPen (this included a visit to all 3 former tent camps) and attending a Recruit
Graduation at MCRD, San Diego. We had a nice banquet at the Sharkey's O'Club at Camp Del Mar on Friday evening. We hosted three
Wounded Warriors at the banquet. They served with Wpns 2/7, E/2/7 &F/2/7 in Afghanistan and a Marine Captain, who served in the Sand Box, gave us a nice after dinner presentation concerning his tour and gave us his opinion of what's happening over there. Once again, Troy and his son Tim, did an outstanding job of putting this reunion together.
S/F,
Don Greenlaw

FROM VITO TO CAPT. GREENLAW:
Hi Don,
I thoroughly enjoyed the reunion.  Nice to see the gang again.  I failed to thank you, Don, for your help in organizing it and for keeping all of us informed regarding the so-called trials and charges brought against some of our Marines.  Thanks so much.

Joe Cornell and I made it home safe and sound.  We flew Alaska and had a fantastic stewardess on board.  She knew we were Marines from the caps we wore and frequently chatted with us.  We informed her some of the graduated Marines were aboard, four of them and, so, she introduced them to the passengers earning them a raucous round of applause. From the time we took off to landing, it was like a party aboard.  I had intentionally gotten a seat across the aisle from Joe Cornell so that we could converse but it didn't happen.  In the seat next to him sat a short-skirted, gorgeous, and I mean really gorgeous, blond-haired gal probably no more than thirty. Needless to say, other than chatting with the stewardess, I was totally abandoned until we collected our bags.  And even on the way to his house, he was in a trance like a numbed zombie.

Johnny Pompeo made it home okay too.  I think the dirty rat stole two pair of my undershorts. Next time we go to a reunion, I'm gonna make certain he packs more than one set.
Take care and thanks again, mio capitano.
Vito.
