First day in combat,  6-9-51, the other two guys in my fire team were killed by a mortar round only 15 minutes after I had met them.

Career After USMC

Returned to college and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1955, Retired form Dupont Corp after 27 years in 1999.

Current Affiliations

Served as Chairman of local Housing Authority. Currently help build homes for the Orange area Habitat for Humanity,  and serve on the building and grounds committee of my church.

Family Information

Married Dottie Dishman, 9-4-54. My daugher Carter and husband Jay Tarrer live in Wilmington, NC and have 2 children (Megan and Austin). My son Kyle and his wife Vickie  live in Longview, TX with their daughter Kayley.

Hobbies

Golf, hunting, fishing and woodworking
