FRANCIS HANKS

 

Arrived at Easy Co. October 1950 and was with Easy Co. 1 year in Korea 1950-1951 as Gunner– 60’s Served in the Corp 20 years and retired as a Gunnery SGT
Was discharged after Korea, then Re-enlisted in 1953 and was assigned to aviation Prep School, NAS, Jacksonville Fl., Then went to MCAS, Cherry Point, NC.
Served at Camp Lejeune, NC. Camp Pendleton, CA. Norfork, VA
Followed by EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) School
Upon completion, I went to Vietnam.
Then duty at Headquarters FMF PAC, Hawaii
Followed by training at Recruitment School, Parris Island, SC.
Upon completion transferred to recruiting duty in Chicago
Followed by 2 years at 29 Palms, CA
After which I retired from military service

         Wife’s name is Elinor, married 42 years. One daughter, Nancy (married with two children). I have two grandsons and two great-grandsons.
