Any comments or anecdotes you’d like to add

Joined E-2-7 in June ’53 at Camp Indianhead near the Imjin River in Chorwon, shortly after we moved up to the MLR to the East of Boulder City adjacent to the Commonwealth troops. One night I was sent out with another Marine to a “listening post” in a crater in the middle of “76” alley, just before dawn an artillery duel started and we lost our phone and ended up staying in the hole (half full of water) for approximately 24 hrs. We managed to find our way back to the MLR after dark, (almost blew ourselves up crawling over a booby trapped bunker where the trench ended in the rice paddy). I was ordered to report to the Company CO to give a report and the only thing he said was glad you’re O.K. and why aren’t you clean shaven!

Most Memorable Moment

NCO-in-charge of saluting battery at CLNC for “Chesty” Pullers retirement.
