Withdrawal from the Hwachon reservoir 4/23/1951. My best run as a runner 3rd Platoon hill 31-A/ Hill 749 Punch Bowl, enlisted 9th INF. BN Junior High School. Planned enjoining regular Marine Corp upon graduation. Korea, June 25th, 1950 changes all that, activated, went to Camp Pendleton - 12weeks training with 2nd weapons. 2nd weapons had many WW2 Vets, they were the best teachers. Okinawa, Iw oxtima Bataan death march. A Bar Man with a steel plate in his skull. They were the "Best" - Duty, Honor and Country, may my luck be with them. |
