Any comments or anecdotes you'd like to add

When we going through advanced combat training at Camp Pendleton prior to embarking for Korea, all the training we received told us to throw all dirt over the reverse slope when digging trench lines. I must have been asleep during that part of training, because when Easy Co. was on Outpost Vegas, on the early morning of March 28th, we were re-digging the trench line & I proceeded to throw the dirt over the forward slope. A round of incoming hit directly above my head & as a result, I was buried alive for a brief period. What did I do after discharge from the USMC: Got a job as Computer Operations Manager at the Washington Post in Washington, DC. Was fortunate to be there when the Watergate business was going on. Retired from there in June, 1991. Went to work for the U. S. Postal Service in September, 1991 until I called it quits in April, 1998. Worked as a Window Clerk at the Germantown, MD Post Office.
