Some
U.S. Marines, pinned down by an insurgent
sniper on top of the building, decided that they'd had enough of
an Iraqi sniper. They marked his location with a smoke grenade
and called for close air support. The aircraft was an F-16 from
the 192nd Fighter Wing of the Virginia Air National guard.

Echo Company Marines continue to push
forward and conduct operations in support of
making Fallujah a safer place for the Iraqi
citizens. We moved from the outskirts of the
city to a new firm base in the center of the
city. It is a four-story building that reminds
many of the Marines of a hotel. They have named
it “Riggs Towers.” The building has afforded the
Marines better living areas, a chow hall, and
two phones that they have access to 24 hours a
day. It definitely has kept moral high along
with all of the care packages and mail that they
receive daily you all. We truly appreciate the
work and effort you have put forward to support
your loved ones. Please continue to keep them in
your prayers. They are doing outstanding work
for Country and Corps.
