Happy 2010 Fourth of July!
As I sit and watch “Old Glory” wave...
I also think of all our brave...
Who fought to keep her flying high...
And weren’t afraid if they should die!
The sight of her, no matter where...
Would lift their heart and curb despair.
That’s kind of what she did that day...
When we became the USA!
The founders then; much like us now...
Wanted freedom; and knew just how!
So many years have passed since then...
When brave men fought that war to win!
And now each year when darkness falls...
We watch the fireworks thrill us all.
It reminds us of those dreary days...
When our proud heroes earned our praised!
That’s just some thoughts that came to me...
As I think of those who made us free!
They saw a future where peace would reign...
And always felt...it was worth the pain!
