Gentlemen It is an honor and privilege to visit the site dedicated my brother Marines who fought galently in Korea. Though I served the Corp in the 70's, the stories of Marines in Korea were instrumental in my decision to be one of The Few, The Proud, A Marine. My life is forever grateful to the Marine Corps and to your service. Cpl Pacheco, S.Tony 3rd Tank Btln, 3rd Mar Div 74-75

Always grateful for your website. Received the 1950 roster of E company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Regimemt, 1st Marines from your website. My brother PFC Joe M. Valenzuela was KIA on hill 1282 west side of Chosin reservoir. His remains are still there and hoping and praying the recovery teams from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command will soon discover. I understand several E/2/7 marines are still misssing from the same area.

God Bless everyone of our military heros stuck in this ugly mess and doing the work that some of us can't. This former Coastguard Corpman stands behind every Marine and agrees with the actions of the Marine that now stands in question. I served in E-2-7 in 1958. The name was changed to Echo Company. A number of the Senior NCO's and a few of the Officers were Korean War Veterans. The 7th has an amazing history. I walked in the foot steps of Giants. It was a high honor to serve in E27. Ooo Rah!! Dennis J. From a brother that served in a sister service (Army)a couple of wars ahead of you (Korea), God Bless our boys and thank you for the message Thank God that the election went the way it did, I cringe to think of how the handling of the terrorists would be handled had it gone the other way...

I am a 63 year old "Marine Brat" grandmother. My father was in WWII in the Pacific and then Korea. He was a lifer in Recon. I love the USMC as a kid and I still do as an adult. I believe in the Marines. I married a Submariner/COB. My husband and father had many a good times teasing each other. It took a "Marine Brat" to be married to a "Chief of the Boat". I support all of our troops. God love you and God bless you all. Swift...........Silent...............Deadly

I am not a marine or anything, i am 14 years old, and i don't know what i would do with out all of our troops in Iraq, Falluja, and everywhere else they are needed. If the marines weren't there we could have terrorist attacks almost every week. I am glad all of the troops care that much about other families to risk their lives and die for our country. My friend's dad was in Iraq for about a year and she, her mom, and both of her brothers were very lonely. Once again thank you for everything you have done for us. Kiera

I was in viet nam 68-69. was injured, the story about the marine is just another way for news reporters to promote their own self at the expence of our brave men and women of all services. as adisabled vet. i dont put alot of stock in what i see on t.v. and what i read instead i talk to my son in law and my nephew who are there. so as man who was in the army i will always beleive in my brother and sister who is in harms way and not the media God bless sgt. I wrote the poem for our State memorial and I am thrilled that it has been accepted by my fellow veterans. It was a difficult time for all of us and I remember those who would sacrifice their life for me and I for them. Such cameraderie exists nowhere else.

What you said is absolutely right. It boggles my mind that they report these facts and then the media gets ahold of them and keeps hammering the point that this young Marine killed an insurgent. Well did anybody ever tell them that this is war and would they have rather had the Insurgent kill one of ours. They have killed enought of our men and women already. How easy it is to critize when you are sitting home safely. It makes my blood boil. Thank you for your service and my God bless you all and keep you safe

Saw Troy's article in the Korean war project newsletter about Mr. Pak sponsoring a trip for vet's to Korea.I'm a Navy vet, amphibs, LSD-19. We have a Vietnam, Korean, and recently completed WW-2 memorial in Springfield. At the 50th anniversary of the Korean memorial, we had several appreciative Korean's represented. You occasionally see where some Korean group or individual is sponsoring trips for veterans. Their appreciation is in turn appreciated by this vet. And Merry Christmas to all.

I served with the First Marine Division from Aug. 51 to Sept. 52. Our outfit, signal company, supported ANGLICO. After Korea, served remainder oftime at Camp Lejeune. Experiences in Korea, especailly the awful cold, will remain with me forever. I just wish our fellow Marines now serving in Iraq could home home and begin a new life and helping them with their memories.

I served with Ordnance Battallion, First Marine Division, FMF, Korea 1951. They call it a "Police Action," but they never climbed the cliffs at Inchon or marched out the Chosen. If they had spent two years, nine months and eleven days in a Red Chinese prison camp, they wouldn't call it a "Police Action."
