Read with great interest your 13 day visit to Korea. On 15 June five of us [Korean war vets] will depart LAX for Inchon Intl.Airport. We will spend ten days there, and will probably visit many of the same places as you did. My time in Korea was from April 51 to May 52, in Easy 2/5, and later as the 2/5 operations chief. I spent 30 years and retired as the Div SgtMaj 1stMarDiv, which I feel was a great honor. Semper Fidelis Jess WISE

Words cannot express what I feel in my heart right now. I read the itenerary of the Korean war vets who just returned from the reunion in Korea. Almost makes me wish I could have been there...but I'm not sure I would have been willing to pay the price that you and others from EZ Company paid. Thank you all for what you did in WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and are now doing in Iraq. I, for one, am eternally grateful, and pray daily for all those who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom. Sincerely, Susan Delaine Pharr Broussard, LA

I came upon this site reading an email from a Marine to his fellow college students in Ohio. He, the Marine, put it all into focus for them I am sure. The link he left below his letter took me to this site. I have two brothers that are retired Marines, one an MP the other a mechanic. Though I am in the Army, I would like my Marine brothers/sisters to know that I continue to pray for them. Not because I have two older bothers that were in the Marines but because ALL Marines are my brothers and sisters. My neighbor is an army Medevac pilot and had recently returned from down range. He will come and get me when he wants to talk about down range. When we talk we go some where to vent. I will tell you, of the entire area he covered, it is the Marines he talks about most. My BN CDR made me his serial commander for vehicles traveling from Baghdad to Doha at least once a week. On one of my return trips we caught up behind an Armored Tank Division traveling very slowly. We could not get around them and eventually stopped for fuel. I was put in a position, for we would not make it back before dark. A young LT. asked me what I would do and I simply told him I’ll think of something. When we approached An Nasiriyah I pulled over and approached a guard. As I got close a young Marine CPL brought his weapon up and ready and challenged me. Once I was able to show him my ID, tell him who I was, and what I was hoping for, he called it in. I was met by the unit’s Sergeant Major, he was happy to let us stay the night on his part of Real Estate. Though he had little, he offered anything he had for us. He explained to me that it was his unit that tried to save my sister unit, the 507 MT Co. during the beginning of the war in that same town and they were finally on there way home. For all Marines out there, thank you for what you do for our country, You have made an impression even in the other Services and I most certainly thank you for what you do and our brothers and sisters in the other services as well. Also I thank your families for the tremendous sacrifices they have made as well. Take Care, God Bless and Simper Fi. DAVID W. WILLIAMS CW3, OD Maintenance Officer

Hello to who ever reads this. I want to thank all Americans who are overseas working to give us our freedom here in the USA. My husband and I are very grateful. We are no young people, but a 70 and 76 years old couple. Just about all the men in my family have served the US in one capacity or another. My husband's brother-in-law died aboard the the USS Snook. He left behind a heart broken wife who waited for many years for him to come home. Because as far as she knew the sub just disappeared without any contact for help. So, we know the price that is paid for America's freedom. We pray for your safety. God bless you all.
