Wanted to let you know that your efforts are appreciated and worthwhile. I will check back and continue to read and enjoy the site. I served in Vietnam with Charlie 1/5 in 1968 and I am always looking for sites for and about Marines. My unit also has a web site and if you get an opportunity, please check it out. www.1-5vietnamveterans.org Thank you for your service and sacrifices to our great country. Semper Fi and God Bless
I served in K/4/11 on 27 Nov. 1950 @ Yudamni, N.K. and was part of the fight that Easy fought on hill 1298; wihout that magnificient resistance, the valley would have been penetrated at night by a sizable enemy force and could have been the difference in getting organized for an orderly withdrawal from the hell hole known as the Chosin Reservoir. My outfit was 155mm Howitzers; after we ran out of ammo on 11/29/50, we all served in infantry units; I ran the ridges with D/2/5 on the way out. I was in the hospital with some great friends from E/2/7. God Bless you everyone. CCM 1073590 Sgt. USMC

Thanks Troy and Jennie - You are to be commended for your keeping alive the memories of those 3 years, one month and 2 days we fought for the preservation of South Korea's Freedom. I appreciate your guidance and interest in supporting my efforts in finalizing the erection of a Korean War Memorial Monument here in Memphis. Funding is slow, - but those who are sending in checks send encouragement. We are committed to have this Monument in memory of those who paid that supreme sacrifice in Korea. I was privileged to have served with those fine men with Easy Company, First Marines. ( March, 1951 to April, 1952. Carried a B.A.R. for most of those 13 months.) You guys in the 7th took the brunt of most of the battles, but the 1st did our share too. My squad was shot up pretty well, with one of my squad being awarded the Medal of Honor on Hill 747. P.F.C. Edward Gomez of Oklahoma. Troy, I collected over 100 different 'surrender leaflets' from the battlefields. I believe that I need to find a home for them somewhere. One is suggesting that we surrender to them, - found at morning light in front of my foxhole.
I guess that I fall in the in between, I was in E Co in '45 and '46 in N China. The Div got there in Sep '45 and returned the colors to CONUS in Jan '46. Of course we had a mostly WW2 vets until early spring of '46 when replacements came in from the States, disbanded units and transfers from the 6th Div (China). I still have contacts with a few that are still alive. E 2 7 was in Linsi, Tangshan, outpost line and Peitaho.
I recall the wonderful young Marines I cared for in '68-'69 on Guam. You're doing great...Keep up the good work! God blees all of you!
ts a pleasure to see Americans grasping the spirit and sacrifice our military people give. We will endure and do the job were told to do. Stay behind us America, we need you to support these men and women. If your for or against the war it is your choice, they make that choice possible. Gysgt R.J. McCallum USMC 1978-1998 Retired
Once a Marine, always a Marine, very proud of it.
Great Job
As an "old" 3/1Marine who has witnessed far to many deployments in his 57 years as a Marine, I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your tribute to John Maloney. I have, for some time now, referred to your efforts in Iraq as the "UNIQUE GENERATION" You are a very special group of Americans and we consider you the best Marines that our Corps has ever fielded. I want to wish you that old Naval Salutation as you prepare for another deployment. MAY GOD GRANT YOU FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS. Frater Infinitas Semper Fi and OoohRaaah Dan Quick Give 'en hell, Marine

Mr. Bush, pay attention. We blame Cngress for our oil situation. Years ago Congress should have allocated funds for research into alternative--non-fossil fuels. Had congress had the will and the courage and the good and welfare of Americns at heart, we would not be buying one gallon of oil from other countries. Even now Cogress is doing little or nothing to correct this situation. Instead of continuing to give trillions of our tax dollars to those chaotic countries, let's get with it and solve our own problems here at home. Hooray, Mr. Watson!! I salute you. Will Congress and Pres. Bush have the guts and fortitude to take charge and correct this oil situation. Mr. Cheney take note also. Where is the public outrage at our leaders?? Let's tell it like it is. Congressmen and Senators lend us your ears.
I AM A KOREAN VETERAN 1950-1952,AND I AM PROUD OF IT.I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT OUR COUNTRY NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS.
Troy Watson, Thanks for your work on this fine Marine Website. I am a former Marine helicopter pilot - I flew UH1E gunships and also AH1G "Cobra" Gunships in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970. Please visit my squadron's website at www.scarface-usmc.org. My squadron from Vietnam is still flying updated versions of the Huey and Cobra, and still using the same call sign "Scarface". Please visit my website at www.valorremembered.org where you can learn the history of a great Marine gunship pilot - Major Stephen W. Pless - the only Marine pilot to earn the MOH in the entire Vietnam War. If you are currently in Dallas, hope to see you at The Marine Corps League or other Marine related functions. MAY GOD BLESS YOU FOR SPEAKING OUT...AND SPEAKING THE TRUTH. WE'RE RAISING A THANKLESS GENERATION OF AMERICANS WHO REFUSE TO ACCEPT THE WORK ETHIC AND INSTEAD DEMAND HANDOUTS....WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS.
Where do you have the story about the Iraqui soldiers who donated 1,000,000 dinars to the New Orleans rescue effort? That should get banner headlines.
What a great website!! I spent a couple of hours here. I spent time with H/3/11 (Camp Pendleton) and E/2/12 (Far East) during my time in the Marine Corps in 1970-1973. My son is in the Corps right now with HMH-464 out of New River, NC. He has served in Iraq and is presently detached to Djibouti. I already passed the website address on to him. Semper Fi
God Bless Our Men in Uniform. My Nephew SSGT J.D. Walker (USMC) recently volunteered for duty in Iraq. His prior assignment was recruitment. Our Family historically has been committed to the "Fight For FREEDOM". I'm Proud to be an AMERICAN.
I became interested in Corporal Lee Phillips USMC, E/2/7, who was KIA 27Nov50 at the Chosin Reservoir after noticing his memorial marker at the Marietta National Cemetery in 1989. Phillips was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions on 4Nov50. I have researched this Marine's status extensively and was provided documents from HQMC indicating he was buried in an "isolated field grave", presumably near where he was killed. In light of the extensive effort over recent years to recover KIA remains from past wars, does anyone know if Cpl. Phillips' remains have ever been found and returned? Any current information on the status of this Marine would be greatly appreciated. S/F Tom Wold Col USMC (Ret) RVN 65-66
Thanks to all of our Service Men for making our freedom possible.
We as a nation, must support our soldiers!!!
Hi Troy, Just had the honor of attending the E-2-5 (Korean) Veterans reunion in Las Vegas. We were invited by a Korean war Veteran I used to work with in NY, had not seen him and his wife in over 40 years. The reunion was attended by over 100 plus Marines, Corpsman and their guests The guest speaker was Major General Richard F. Natonski Commanding General Ist Marine Division, a combat General and from what I saw a Marines "Marine". Just a great ceremony with many of the Marines (to include the General) in "Dress Blues." Although the Corps has changed in some ways since "our" enlistment`s the Marines have not. Keep up the great web site and always enjoy your e-mails forwarded by Robert and Marie-Christine. Thank you very much, Mr. Watson, for contacting me about my father (Franklin Rollinson). It was very nice to hear from you and I am very grateful that the Marines never forget each other. Thank you for the chance to visit your web site it is wonderful. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
I have never met, or have ever been acquainted with, a finer group of patriots, then those of the U.S. Marine Corps! Bob Beskar...Vietnam War Veteran, U.S. Air Force...68-72
Hi Troy, You starting the website has worked well for me . I have contacted six Marines that I had no address for. A Marine from Oregon who was from this area when in High School, went into the Marine Corps and was in Fox Co. in Korea. He got my address from the website and the other day, him and his wife drove in the driveway. We had a very nice visit, off course not long enough. They had gone to Branson to the Fox Co. reunion and then here, close by, to visit relatives. They told us about Branson and said it was very nice. Hobart Wagers, E 2 7 1952
