May Day 1951
"Marine, you die!", the shrill voice screamed.
Now wide awake, we had not dreamed.
Whistles, bugles, they all blared.
We hunkered down in the holes we shared.
Here they come, they have no hope.
The M1 & carbine would destroy the slope.
Still they come, though not too far.
Thanks to the Marine and his BAR.
THE CCF, they really tried,
And for their efforts, they all died.
What was their purpose, the screams and yells?
They soon would rest in new found hells.
That Korean night in May was serene,
Until they challenged the U.S. Marines.
For in the hereafter, they will see,
The Marine, the Marine, the USMC!
