Dad, William
Farrar, Jr was a member of Easy Co 2/7 when wounded at Hwanchon Reservoir on Jun
8, 1951. He was wounded twice before that, the last was when he caught a 61 mm
twixt the legs.
He participated in the liberation of Seoul, invasion of Inchon,
Wonson-Hungnam-Chosin campaign, and in the engagements in south and central
Korea, including Pusan, and Masan.
At the outbreak of the war he was assigned to D Co, lst Engineer Bn, 7th
Marines.
During WWII he was adjutant of the 1st Joint Assault Signal company as it
disembarked at Roi Namur, Saipan and Tinian.
My father, William T. Farrar Jr. died May 12, 1962 Camp Pendleton, on the operating table, open heart surgery. He was, as previously stated, a member of Co E, 2/7 from Oct 1950 to 8 June 1951 when he was wounded and evacuated to Japan.
